This
Schlicker pipe organ was originally installed in St.
Matthew's Church in Inwood, Manhattan, NY in 1956, the same
year the church was built. Unfortunately, the church is
slated to be closed in July of 2006 and torn down, (along with
the whole block) to make way for the construction of new
condominiums. Luckily, the pastor from St. Matthew's
knew the pastor from Trinity Lutheran and was aware they were
looking for a pipe organ to replace their aging electronic
organ. The removal would need to happen fast if the
organ was going to be saved and we were able to make it
happen. We were recommended by the pastor at St. Luke's
in Dix
Hills for the job.
We recently removed the organ and console and delivered it to
the new church. View the slideshow to see the removal
and delivery of the pipe organ. It is in storage at the
church now, we will be rebuilding it soon.
