     On May 7, 2006 the Suffolk chapter of the AGO presented a recital by Yoon-mi Lim on the Elsener pipe organ at First Presbyterian Church in Northport.  The program included pieces by Liszt, Bach, Guillou, Mendelssohn, Alain and Widor.

 

     The Suffolk Guild presented a scholarship worth $750 each to both Jonathan Riss, an organ major at Ithaca College and Jared Solensten, a senior at Smithtown High School who will begin his organ major next fall.

 

     Also presented this night was the Elsener Scholarship Award for beginning organists.  The winners were: 1st Place ($1000) to Catherine Mahler; 2nd Place ($500) to Brent Trubia; 3rd Place ($450) to Kaitlin Schneekloth; and 4th Place ($250) to Alex Konsker."

 

 

 

 

 

 

     We would like to once again congratulate the winners of the Award as well as thank Yoon-mi Lim for her wonderful performance, it was truly inspirational!

After performing on the relocated and rebuilt Casavant pipe organ at St. Luke's in Dix Hills, these beginning organ students were treated to a wonderful recital on the Elsener organ at Northport and their scholarship rewards.
